JAMMU, July 18: Mahant Rohit Shastri today met with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and submitted a memorandum for installing a statue of Late Sanjay Sharma at Keran Chowk, here today.
Mahant Rohit Shastri also requested the Mayor to rename the Chowk name on the name of Sanjay Sharma.
“Late Sanjay Sharma was the very first president of Bawa Kailakh Prabandhak Committee, member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and a social activist. On September 13, 1999, Mr Sharma was killed at this Chowk in a road accident,” Shastri narrated to Mayor.
On this occasion, Pandit Naresh Sharma Seth was also present.
