JTC for settlement of Pandits in 3 townships in Valley

JAMMU, July 19: Shadi Lal Pandita, president Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) said that 50,000 families are anxious to return Kashmir Valley for which the Government should meet the demands put forth by his organization.
Addressing the dharna of JTC and SKF activists at Jagti township which entered 291th day today, Pandita said that for the return of Kashmiri Pandits to Valley an employment package should be announced for the unemployed youth of community and also Government Jobs should be given to those families where no educated youth has got a job till date. He said that Kashmiri Pandit agriculturists and orchardists have suffered significant loss of movable and immovable property and other properties in the last 32 years which should be compensated to them.
He said the Government should set up three townships in the districts of Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag to settle the Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley as they will not be able to go to their respective villages under the present conditions.
Pandita appealed Lt Governor of UT to solve the growing problems of relief holders as soon as possible by enhancing the cash relief from Rs 13000 to 25000 per family per month.
