Sikh Organizations project demands

JAMMU, July 19: Various Sikh Organizations held a meeting under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh, Chief Organizer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K and Ex-member Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu.
In the meeting, the Sikh Organizations discussed various issues confronting their community and has appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that main task of the delimitation commission should redraw boundaries of various Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies based on current census.
They added that new delimitation should be done after the census of 2021. They also appealed for return of statehood status to the Jammu and Kashmir and after getting elected the popular Government, the delimitation process should be started on the basis of the census 2021.
They also demanded ending of discrimination with Sikh minority community by providing due share in the assembly and parliamentary constituencies.
“Till the popular Government is formed, a Sikh Advisor should be appointed to the LG of J&K”, they said and appealed to the Prime Minister and Home Minister to pass the bill in the parliament session to defreeze the eight seats out of 24 vacant seats of PoK to Sikh community.
The Sikh Organizations also demanded release of pending rehabilitation amount in favour of refuses of POK. They also demanded that the quota for refugees unemployment should be fixed in the recruitment at par with other reservations for SC and ST categories.
