SRINAGAR, July 20: A delegation of migrant Kashmiri Pandits led by party’s Minority Wing president, MK Yogi today called on the party president and Member of Parliament, Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his residence here.
Among others vice president of party and former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and provincial president, Nasir Aslam Wani and new joinees to the party including Vice Chairman, Shopian Municipal Committee, Panchs, and Sarpanchs were also present on the occasion.
While interacting with the delegation, Dr. Farooq said, “Kashmiri Pandit brethren are our blood and flesh; a very central piece of our cultural and social life. The generation which was born after the migration was born in families, where pain and agony was visceral.”
He added, “Together we have to fight against divisive forces who are trying their best to create divisions between Muslims and Pandit communities. We have to chart a path towards achieving that noble end together,” he said.
He impressed upon the new joinees to work towards bridging the gap between the two communities by fighting those pitting one community against the other. He urged the functionaries to work towards making the party’s secular, socialist, democratic and participatory ideology stronger within the community.  Calling for unity, he asked the functionaries to work in tandem in the battle for restoration of J&K’s dignity, and securing its historical individuality and identity.
