BARAMULLA, June 27: Former Union Minister and PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has criticized the top BJP leader Lal Krishan Advani for raising the issue of Article 370 and said that BJP only harp on it when the elections draw nearer.
Addressing party workers’ meeting here today, the PCC chief condemned the recent statement of Advani in which he stated that Article 370 should be revoked. Prof Soz asserted that no authority in India, not even the Parliament, can abrogate Article 370 as it was integral part of  the constitution of India.  He pointed out that BJP leaders harp on  Article 370 only during elections. He wondered why the BJP did not raise this issue when they were in power in the Centre for 6 years.
On this occasion several political activists joined the Congress Party.  Prof Soz  told the gathering that some of the old associates and functionaries who are in the Congress party and a new group of  political leaders who joined party now will have the role in the party.  He also explained that politics was in fact, the service to the people.  He said politics is enjoyed better by the leaders who adopt concern for the people as their goal.
Several prominent PCC members also attended the function who included Ghulam Nabi Monga, Mir Mushtaq, Aftab Ahmed, Shoib Nabi Lone and others.
