Thief arrested, stolen goods worth Rs 14 lakh recovered

JAMMU, July 26: Nagrota police today arrested a thief and recovered stolen goods worth Rs 14 lakh from his possession.
The thief identified as Habib Khan alias Bheema son of Suleman, resident of Ram Raj Firoj Pur, Meerut, UP (at present Ragura, Jammu) was napped by a team of police post Sidhra after hectic efforts and days of investigation.
On sustained questioning of the accused and technical analysis of the data, it was found that the accused was involved in multiple cases of theft in Sidhra and surrounding areas. On his disclosure, Gold ornaments worth Rs 6.5 lakh, currency amounting to Rs 1.6 lakh, 84 foreign currency coins, one pulsar motorcycle, one scooty and many other electronics/valuables valued at approximately 6 lakh were recovered.
According to the police, the total value of the recovered goods is Rs 14 lakh approximately. Further investigation is on in order to ascertain the identity/whereabouts of his associates and accomplices, the police added.
