ATU protests, demands regularization of daily wagers

JAMMU, July 27: Apni Trade Union (ATU) here today staged a protest demonstration demanding regularization of daily wagers, need based workers and other such employees.
The protest was led by ATU president, Ajaz Kazmi and was organized by ATU district Jammu president, Anirudh Vasist.
Addressing protesters Kazmi demanded that daily wagers, need based workers and other temporary workers should be regularized by the government.
The protesters raised slogans in favour of their demands.
Kazmi said that shopkeepers should be permitted to open their business establishments from 7 am to 9 pm as COVID situation has improved now.
He further demanded that the government should waive off the electricity bills and not charge the same from industrialists, shopkeepers, small tea stalls owners, vegetable and fruit vendors and other businessmen as this will help traders to overcome financial crunch they faced due to COVID-19.
The ATU leader said that auto and mini-bus operators should also be given relaxation in taxes and paying bank loans for the period of COVID-19.
Prominent among those who were present in the protest were District ATU president Samba, Sunny Sambyal; State general secretary Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya; District vice president Apni Party Jammu, Vaibhav Mattoo; Coordinator Kashmiri Migrants of Jammu Province, Vinod Pandita, Joginder Singh, Ashraf, Suhail Khajuria, Sardish Rana, Deepak Bradoo, Vishal Jatishi, Charanjeet Singh, Atinder Singh, Anmol, Sunil Gupta, Sunil Sharma and others.
