2 arrested for attack on CDPO

RAJOURI, June 28: The police has arrested two accused persons involved in the attack on CDPO Thanamandi and his brother, an employee in the Tourism Department.
A police spokesman said that the police party led by SHO Thanamandi Shaheen Mirza conducted raids at different locations and arrested two accused involved in the murderous attack on KAS officer (CDPO), Mehmood Riaz and his brother, Tariq Riaz, a senior assistant in Tourism Department.
The accused are identified as Wasim Raja, son of Khadam Hussain, and Shakoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Latief, residents of village Sain Samad in Thanamandi. The police was looking for two other accused involved in the attack and claimed that they too, will be nabbed by tomorrow.
It may be recalled that both the brothers were allegedly attacked and beaten up by some bike riders when they were returning to Rajouri from Thanamandi in their respective vehicles two days back. There was strong public protest and road blockade in Thanamandi on Thursday over the issue.
