1 killed, 19 injured in mishaps

Srinagar, June 28: One person was killed and nineteen others injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley today, police said.
A motorcycle rider, Gulzar Ahmad Hajam, son of Mohammad Ramzan of Achabal and a pillion, Nigena daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Lone of Lahorihama, Rafiabad, were injured when a truck JK01A/8243 hit the motorcycle (JK05D/1904) they were riding on near Markundal, Sumbal, in district Bandipora, police said. The injured woman, Nigeena, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital, police said.
Fourteen students of Green Way Public High School, Khalmulla, Ganderbal, were injured when a bus carrying them to picnic skidded off the road near Duga Park, Fore Shore road in Srinagar. Nine students, four teaching staff and the driver of the bus were injured, police said. They were shifted to SKIMS, Soura for treatment.
An Alto car JK05C- 8629 hit and injured a pedestrian girl Shahzada Akhter daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Malik at Buchoo, Anantnag, police said. She has been shifted to District Hospital, Anantnag, for treatment.
A pedestrian Fayaz Ahmed Padder son of Ghulam Nabi of Mattan at Akoora Crossing KP Road, Anantnag, was hit and injured by a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK03C/0592. Police said he has been shifted to hospital for treatment.
In Sumbal, a man, Dilpazeer Ahmed son of Jumma Bagda of Sumbal Bala, when an Auto load carrier 4157- JK16 turned upside down, police said, adding, he has been shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar, for treatment.
A Wagon-R bearing registration number JK09/6689 hit and injured a girl Nazima daughter of Reyaz Ahmad Mir of Santipora, Kralpora, at Kralpora Mode in district Kupwara. Police said she has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
