Legislators’ panel inspects several projects in Kargil

SRINAGAR, June 28 : A joint panel of State Legislature on Public Undertakings (PUC), headed by Mohammad Sharief Niaz, which is currently on 3-day visit to Kargil, today inspected various on-going power and other developmental projects in the area.
Expressing satisfaction on the pace of progress, the Members stressed the need for the time bound completion of these projects so that the benefits of these projects reach to the locals. The Committee laid stress on maintaining quality of works strictly as per the laid down para-meters and making judicious use of Government money.
The panel maintained that in the Ladakh region there is very limited working season and urged the concerned agencies to make their best efforts to make optimum use of time on the developmental activities. They also called for strengthening the monitoring mechanism for timely completion of projects.
The Panel called for close coordination between various executing agencies and administration to clear bottlenecks on ground, if any, so that the targets are achieved well within the time schedule.
The Members who are part of the panel included, Basharat Bukhari, Peer Afaq, Ali Mohammad Dar, G.N.Monga, Dr. Nazir Ahmed and Indu Pawar.
Concerned officers of district administration and Assembly Secretariat also accompanied the Committee.
