JAMMU, July 30: All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) held a meeting under the chairmanship of president Desh Rattan Pandita here, today to highlight the burning problems of displaced Kashmiri Pandits which it alleged the administration either at Center or in UT never bothered to listen .
President AIMCCC, Desh Rattan Pandita said that KPs are the main stake holders of Valley. He expressed deep concern over the step motherly treatment of Government towards the community and appealed Prime Minister and Home Minister to look into the problems as KPs.
The meeting demanded relief assistance be enhanced from present Rs. 3250 per soul per month be enhanced to Rs.6000 as the prices of essential commodities have risen high, KP youth who turned over-aged during these 32 years be provided special financial package for their livelihood and release of balanced ex-gratia of burnt and damaged houses, other structures soon which has been kept hanging for last 30 years.
It demanded encroached land, orchards, residential houses, temples and shrines be restored, as same had been kept under custody of concerned District Commissioners and constitution of a Committee for investigating encroachment of land in Valley and its restoration to its owners.
The meeting also demanded passage of Temple &Shrine Bill, digging of bore wells in camps to provide regular clean drinking water.
In this connection, B B Vyas, the then Chief Secretary had approved Rs 7.5 lakh for four bore wells at Jagti township but still hanging in balance.
Desh Rattan further demanded that KPs be given minority status, registration of non registered KPs, land records of community be got authenticated through concerned Revenue Department to verify any sort of discrepancy in records after displacement of the community, besides one Government job to each family be provided and political empowerment of the community.
Manmohan Kanth, J L Raina, Vinoo Misri, Satish Sas, Shadi Lal Bhat, Pupoo Ji Bhat, Anjli Kar, Priya Dhar, Santosh Hali, Nancy Kanth and others attended the meeting.
