OT Technicians demand departmental promotions

JAMMU, Aug 2: Operation Theatre (OT) Technicians Association has demanded departmental promotions of all categories of employees in health department.
In a press conference here today, Jaswinder Singh, Association president urged upon the J&K Lieutenant Governor for personal intervention in this matter and claimed that authorities responsible for doing DPC have adopted a delay tactic for these promotions.
He also said that authorities are preparing for the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic by supplying large number of equipments to hospitals which will not serve the purpose due to shortage of staff required to operate such equipments.
Singh also said that some hospitals in Jammu are functioning with only a 1-2 operation theatre assistants who have a big load of gynae, surgery, ENT and ortho patients.
He informed that similarly posts of Assistant Nursing Matron, Head OT Tech, Head Pharmacist etc are also lying vacant in the health department.
The OT Association president further said that they will support the agitation by Medical Employee Federation for departmental promotions and will also participate in district level demonstrations starting from August 3 and will join Jammu Chalo programme on August 24, 2021.
