JAMMU, Aug 3: Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg today reviewed the ongoing/new works proposed under District Capex Budget 2021-22 including DDC, BDC, PRI grants.
The meeting discussed the works proposed for meeting the developmental needs of the district with focus on strengthening grassroots level democracy.
The Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review on the progress of developmental projects undertaken by Rural Development, Health, JKPDCL, Jal Shakti, PWD, GWD, Jal Shakti department and other sectors.
The concerned officers apprised the chair regarding the status of works approved under DDC, BDC and PRI components.
It was informed in the meeting that a total 207 works have been approved under DDC component, including 19 in Health sector, 9 of Jal Shakti, 131 of RDD and 24 each of GWD and JPDCL. Similarly, a total 201 works have been approved under BDC component including 161 of RDD, 31 of Jal Shakti, 6 of JPDCL and 3 of GWD.
It was further informed in the meeting that 4324 works have been approved under PRI component including 3332 of RDD, 912 of GWD, 30 of PWD, 25 of JPDCL, 20 of Jal Shakti and 5 of Health sector.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of the ongoing works for their time-bound completion. He also cautioned that any kind of laxity in completing the works within a set time line will not be tolerated at all.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated time frame and urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.
Meanwhile, various issues and bottlenecks impeding the completion of projects were also highlighted by the concerned officers and sought the speedy disposal of these issues.
Along with others, senior officers of the concerned departments such as PWD, RDD, Health were present in the meetings.
