EJAC seeks hike in medical allowance

JAMMU, Aug 3: J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC-R) has demanded increase in the Medical allowance of the employees and pensioners and removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre.
In a meeting of the EJAC held here today under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik, its president, the speakers extended gratitude to the Government for announcing de-freezing of 11% DA of the employees and pensioners. They strongly demanded increase in the Medical Allowance of the employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month and removal pay anomalies of the clerical cadre.
The members further demanded that all the benefits be given to the employees of Union Territory of J&K at par with other UTs and Central Govt employees. They also demanded regularization of all type of daily rated/ casual workers including contractual teachers and lecturers and implementation of Minimum Wages Act in J&K UT.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included – Yash Pal Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma, Sham Singh, Lekh Raj, Arun Kumar, Munish Sharma, SR Rathore , Arjun Dass, Vikas Chander and others.
