RAJOURI, Aug 4: The security forces today arrested a narcotic smuggler on Mughal Road in Surankote area and recovered huge quantity of poppy husk (Bhukki) from their possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Dr Vinod Kumar said joint team of police comprising of SHO Mohd Rafiq, Maroof Ahmed, Nasar Ahmed Jungbaaz and Abdul Rasheed, Sharafat Hussain alongwith Army men during routine naka on Mughal Road intercepted a truck No. PB13AF- 7270 and signalled to stop.
The truck was put to thorough frisking and a consignment of 15 kilograms of Poppy husk was found kept hidden in the vehicle which was recovered.
The accused have been identified as truck driver- Aslam, son of Babu Deen from Tiblawala, Jamalpura Tehsil Maler Kotla District Sangrur.
Public has registered a case FIR No. 286/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act at Police Station Surankote and further investigation has been started in the case.
