KATHUA, Aug 5: The long queue of passenger, ration and vegetables loaded vehicles is seen on Bani road on which movement of vehicular traffic has been disturbed due to land sliding.
The road has been closed for clearance of boulders. Due to heavy rainfall in hilly areas of Bani and Billawer areas number of roads are so far closed for traffic movement. The Billawer -Katli- Malhar road is also closed for traffic movement due land sliding and washing away of road.
The people of the area are suffering a lot under such circumstances. The Basholi-Bani road has also been closed for traffic as heavy boulders have rolled down on the road at Sukha nullah and some other points after land sliding due to heavy rainfall.
The passengers are moving on foot and crossing the area of land slides on the risk of their lives. The routine landslides on the road have added to the woes of daily commuters. They are suffering a lot as some patients on way to Jammu and Kathua especially for hospitalization are facing problems in such circumstances. The GREF authorities have put a dozer on the job to clear the road. But it will takes long time to clear the boulder scattered on the road.
