PHE employees flay Govt, project pending issues

JAMMU, Aug 6: The PHE/ Jal Shakti employees today criticized the Government and projected their burning issues.
In a meeting of the senior leaders of the PHE Employees United Front held here today at PHE Complex BC Road Jammu , the members discussed the pending unresolved genuine issues of both permanent and daily wagers of the department.
The speakers discussed the issue of enhancement of DA of permanent employees and expressed that the DA hike by the UT Govt is a welcome step but have shaken the daily wagers of the department, who have not been given anything by the Govt, which is the another evidence of step motherly treatment being meted out to the daily wagers for the last so many years. They demanded enhancements in wages of the daily rated workers..
They further demanded conducting DPC meetings of the department according to the fresh guidelines of the UT Govt so that the deserving employees are able to avail promotion avenues on time. The employees also demanded regularization of daily wagers as per SRO 64 of 1994, removal of pay ban on the monthly wages of daily wagers in reference to 12 vouchers as deliberately created by the PHE administration to harass the workers.
They warned the higher authorities in PHE and the Finance department to solve the genuine above stated issue of the daily wagers within 15 days otherwise, the workers will be forced to approach High Court against the illegal and unjustified stand of the UT Govt.
The Front leaders have also demanded clearance of all pending earned wages of the workers. They sought special assistance Rs 5 lakhs for the employees of the department who died of COVID-19 .
Prominent leaders of the Front who jointly chaired the meeting included Subash Verma, Bhalbhadar Raj Sharma, Kartar Dubey, Ravi Hans, Rajinder Singh, Jyoti Parkash and Hoshiar Singh.
