JAMMU, Aug 6: The residents of Street Number 12 of Bhawani Nagar held protest against Jal Shakti Department here today.
A large number of residents with empty utensils assembled at the entry point of the street and held protest. They raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department for not providing regular drinking water.
They said that drinking water scarcity due to some technical snag has caused immense trauma to the residents since fortnight.
“The issue was taken up with the concerned officials of the department, but nothing has been done till today, which forced us to come on road”, the residents added.
They appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to kindly direct the concerned authorities to redress the water scarcity issue.
Among others present were Chaman Lal Koul, Shiban Krishan Bhat, Satish Kumar Malla, Chuni Lal, Dr Agnishekhar, Sudesh Kumar, Tej Krishan Bhat, Tirath Ram, Vimal, etc.
