Bone & Joint Week celebrations conclude with Orthopaedics camp

JAMMU, Aug 7: On the concluding day of Bone & Joint Week celebrations today, Department of Orthopaedics, ASCOMS & Hospital, Sidhra (Jammu) in association with Jammu & Kashmir Orthopaedic Association (JKOA) organized a free Orthopaedic camp at Ward Number 47, Bahu Fort, Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by Kavinder Gupta, Ex-Deputy Chief Minister (CM) of J&K along with Dr Rajesh Gupta, Prof & HoD Orthopaedics ASCOMS & Hospital, Vinay Gupta and Sharda Kumari.
Around 100 patients were examined in the camp and free medicines were also distributed to the needy patients. The patients were also screened for free surgeries which will be conducted free of cost at ASCOMS and Hospital, Sidhra.
The team of doctors which gave their services in the camp was comprised of Dr Rajesh Gupta, Dr Irfan Ahmed, Dr Sunny Sharma, Dr Karanveer Singh, Dr Aditya Gupta, Dr Amaresh Kumar, Dr Manvir Singh and Dr Kashis Hussain. The camp was supervised by Janak Raj.
The National Bone and Joint Day is celebrated all over India on 4th of August. To commemorate this day, Indian Orthopaedic Association and JKOA had planned a number of activities all over the Union Territory for the benefit of general public from August 1 to 8.
Many activities for the welfare of the students and general public were organized all over the Union Territory. The activities included online teaching to the students and public on Basic Life Support and First Aid, Talks on work life balance, life beyond professional life, financial health, Yoga & Meditation sessions, etc.
