JAMMU, Aug 8: Apni Party general secretary, Vikram Malhotra today accused BJP leaders for playing with the sentiments of Dogras and alleged that they have failed to declare September 23rd as holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
Addressing a joining programme, organized at Ward 5 of Talab Khitakan, Malhotra said that even after coming to power with PDP in last Assembly elections of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, they could not declare the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh as State holiday.
“They have played with the sentiments of Dogras and compromised what was promised to the people of Jammu. The BJP has been exposed for its misdeeds and falsehood,” he alleged.
He said that when they were ruling directly in J&K, they did nothing for Dogras, their heritage and culture. “The attempt to convert a portion of historic Mubarak Mandi Palace into a hotel is highly objectionable and it would be a disaster for BJP if it plays with the sentiments of Dogras,” he said.
Malhotra said that the people will resist the move strongly and the Government should review its decision.
On this occasion, Raj Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Rohan Luthra, Romesh Choudhary, Rajesh Sharma, Rani Devi, Pretty Mattoo and Shami Sotra joined the Apni Party in presence of Vikram Malhotra.
