BHADERWAH, Aug 8: Up in arms against extremely bad condition of under construction road from Senaie to Duggli, the locals of village Duggli held protest against PMGSY Department, here today.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PMGSY Department. They said that the people were suffering due to unprecedented delay in completion of this road work, which was to be finished years back.
“The contractor didn’t complete the road from Kheleni to Duggli, about 9km long stretch under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)”, the residents alleged.
They said that several years have passed but the macadamisation is yet to be done, adding that despite repeated complaints to the PMGSY Department no action was taken and these days the condition of road is so bad that we even can’t walk.
“Sick patients and pregnant women are the worst sufferers as the road has turned accident prone with lot of pits”, the residents stated.
With a warning to block the Doda-Bhaderwah highway, the protesting residents dispersed.
