Hakla for establishment of Tribal University

POONCH, Aug 8: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual of J&K while expressing his anguish over the delaying tactics of Government in settling the issues of nomadic Gujjars and Bakerwals in J&K has urged to the Lieutenant Governor Union Territory, Manoj Sinha to frame a strong policy for ensuring the proper functioning of mobile schools in the UT for half-settled and unsettled nomadic people of this tribe.
He also urged to Government of India for opening of boarding schools on pattern of Navodya Vidalya for Gujjar-Bakarwal girls and boys students in all districts of J&K Union-Territory.
Hakla demanded that Government of India should establish a Tribal university in J&K for Gujjar Bakarwal Schedule Tribe students of J&K on the pattern of other such universities established in the UT.
