SMVDU organizes workshop on GFRs & e-Purchase Processes

KATRA, Aug 9: A one-day workshop on “Dynamics & Advances in General Financial Rules (GFRs) & e-Purchase Processes” was organized at SMVD University by Faculty Development Centre-SMVDU under Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) Scheme.
In the inaugural address, SMVDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ravindra Kumar Sinha asked the participants to learn and clear their doubts about GFR 2017 and the e-procurement process. He also acknowledged the contribution of the National Informatics Centre for arranging resource persons for this prestigious workshop.
The guest of honour of the inaugural session was Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Registrar SMVDU, who briefed the participants about the importance of the program. Jamwal emphasised that such types of programs will be instrumental in providing a better ecosystem and smoothen the execution of the purchase process, sponsored projects etc in the vibrant campus of the University.
Dr Suparn Kumar Sharma, Coordinator, FDC-SMVDU & Dean, Faculty of Management and Chairman of the workshop, informed that FDC-SMVDU is also going to conduct a number of training programs in the offline mode in this area.
In the inaugural ceremony, Dr A K Das, Program Coordinator of the workshop and Director, Quality Assurance Cell, SMVDU, emphasized the importance of this program for the e-procurement process. Ar Aditya Kumar Singh, Convenor of the workshop and Head, SoALD, introduced the participants to the program. Dr Rashi Taggar, co-convener of the workshop moderated the inaugural session.
Around 240 participants with diverse specializations were enrolled in the workshop. Apart from SMVDU, participants were from IIHS, KU Kurukshetra, Arni University, Harivandana College-Rajkot, DEI, Dayalbagh, Agra Central University of Jammu, Govt Degree College Kathua, etc in the workshop.
Resource person Sumit Kapoor introduced the participants to the e-Procurement System of Jammu and Kashmir. He also explained various critical points for floating and execution of an e-tender such as the importance of Digital Signature Certificate, BoQ types, extension/cancel of a tender. He demonstrated the participants’ smooth process with a minute description and also briefly overviewed the key features GFRs. The participants interacted with the resource person enthusiastically and requested the FDC-SMVDU that more sessions should be organised in these types of contemporary tools office management and procurement processes.
