Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 57 cattle rescued, 4 arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 9: Chanderkote Police foiled bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 57 cattle and arresting four persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Chanderkote led by SHO Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary laid a naka and intercepted four Srinagar bound heavy trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AK- 5571, JK4B-2480, JK02BE-8131 and JK14C-0451.
During checking, police rescued 57 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four persons, who were identified as Sultan Hussain, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Jail Road District Udhampur, Mohammad Asif, son of Farooq Ahmad of District Anantnag, Javid Ahmad, son of Mukhtar Ahmad of Kokernag District Anantnag and Ghulam Rasool, son of Bashir Ahmad of Chowadhi District Jammu.
Cases FIR Numbers 95/2021, 96/2021, 97/2021 and 98/2021 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation started.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban PD Nitya.
