KATHUA, Aug 9 : Kathua Police under the supervision of SSP Kathua R C Kotwal, today seized two vehicles indulging in illegal mining and challaned 14 more people who violated the government order in different forms.
Acting tough against the illegal mining within the district, a Police team of Hiranagar under the supervision of SHO in its jurisdictional area found one dumper bearing No. JK21F-6399 indulging in illegal mining which was being used for illegal transportation of construction material. While in another case, Police team of Chadwal noticed one tractor trolley indulging in illegal mining and transporting of construction material. Both the vehicles were seized and immediately handed over to the officials of the mining department kathua for further legal course of action.
Drive against the violators continued throughout the district as Kathua Police challaned 14 violators with a fine of Rs. 5300 for violating the COVID-19 SOPs in the area.
