JTC, SKF protest enters 312th day

JAMMU, Aug 10: A protest sit in was held by the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) at Jagti township Nagrota near here, today.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said the protest has entered 312th day today but the Government is doing injustice to Kashmiri migrants while relief holders are in great trouble as their monthly cash relief is very low in the face of high inflation.
He demanded the relief be increased from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per month at an earliest.
He said Government jobs for unemployed youth and, interest -free loans should be given to over aged youths .Pandita said that Kashmiri Pandits have suffered a lot of loss of land and property during turmoil which should be compensated by the Government. He stressed on building of there townships in the Kashmir valley near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag for return and rehabilitation of Pandits .
Pandita also urged the Government to give political reservation to Pandits with minority status. Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president of JTC appealed to the LG that a package of 20,000 jobs be announced for unemployed KP youth.
