Shiv Sena demands permanent installation of Tricolour at Lal Chowk

JAMMU, Aug 10: Shiv Sena (Bala Saheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit today demanded permanent installation of 100 feet high Tricolours at the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar and Bagh-e-Bahu and Mubarak Mandi in Jammu.
Addressing media persons during a press conference held at the Party’s office, president Manish Sahni appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to pass requisite directions for hoisting the aforesaid 100 feet high tricolours permanently at these historical places of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
“The installation work of Tricolours should be completed before Independence Day,” he demanded.
Sahni further said that much politics has been played over hoisting of Tricolour at the historic Lal Chowk for decades and permanent installation of the Tricolour at these historic sites will bring end to the politics played by opportunists on the issue.
“It will be a tribute on this Independence Day to the security personnel who achieved martyrdom in Kashmir,” he added.
President women’s wing Meenakshi Chhibber, general secretary Vikas Bakshi, senior vice president Sandeep Bhagat and Sanjeev Kohli were present during the press briefing.
