JAMMU, Aug 12: Government today ordered constitution of a committee to oversee the rationalization of hierarchical structure of both Revenue Department and the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The committee shall study the old and the existing Hierarchical and Reporting Structure of both the departments and the changes in functions assigned over the period of time.
The committee shall study the rationality of sudden expansion of both the departments over the last decade and propose the recommended Hierarchical and Reporting Structure of both the departments.
Principal Secretary, Revenue Department is Chairman of the committee while Principal Secretary, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj; Commissioner Secretary GAD; Divisional Commissioner (Kashmir/Jammu); Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department; Director, Panchayti Raj, J&K and Director Rural Development (Jammu. Kashmir) are Members of the committee.
