2 drug peddlers arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Aug 13: Gandhi Nagar and Nagrota Police arrested two drug peddlers along with poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by PSI Jeevan Kumar under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bharat Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 3.250 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Manmohan Singh, son of Sardar Singh of Mussa Chak RS Pura, at present Extension Trikuta Nagar District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 229/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a Jammu bound vehicle bearing registration number JK01R-2171.
During frisking, police team recovered 4 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested one person, who was identified as Mastan Singh, son of Nehal Singh of Dharap Tehsil Gadigarh District Jammu.
A case under Number 350/2021 under Sections 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
