Srinagar, July 1: Army today recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Macchil sector on the Line of Control in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“The search party unearthed a cache of arms and ammunition in the area between the LoC and the fence”, the spokesman said.
The recovery included one AK-56 Rifle with ten magazines and 300 rounds, four Chinese pistols with four magazines, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) with 12 grenades and three Chinese hand grenades.
“In recent operations in Kupwara district, similar caches of war like stores have been recovered on April 9, June 8 and June 25.   Army is doing its best to deny any chance of infiltration or smuggling of weapons through the LoC. This is a major success in foiling the attempts of militants to disturb peace in the area”, the spokesman said.
