Srinagar, Aug 14: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s General Secretary (BJP) (organization) Ashok Koul today urged the LG led administration to execute the plans for the panchayats, BDC’s in Gurez Valley so that works can be done before the onset of the winter season.
Addressing a workers meeting in Gurez, Koul said people of the area have been neglected over the past several decades.
He said that they demanded construction of the all-weather tunnel for Gurez and a special recruitment drive in Police forces for the region, he said.
“Some of the major works have been left in completed including the road from Dawar from Tulail should be repaired, as it is full of potholes,” Koul said.
The senior BJP leader said as two months are remaining to the summer season in Kashmir, and recently panchayats and BDC’s have submitted their plans to block levels, they are yet to execute those on the ground.
“When these plans will be approved as there is a dearth of time also as Gurez cuts off from rest of Kashmir in winters. He urged the administrative bodies to approve their plans on a fast track basis for execution,” he said.
Koul also expressed his concern about the dearth of staff in administrative department heads including Tehsildar, BDO’s and other officers.
“Someone living in Tulail where there is no BDO or Tehsildar, and these things will lead people to suffer on the ground level. The government should come into action to fill the vacant vacancies in the area so that no one will suffer,” he said.
Party’s General Secretary organization said although the road from Bandipora to Gurez is good there is a need for more up-gradation.
Regarding the tourism sector, Koul said it is the first time Gurez is witnessing a good number of tourists and each day the number is increasing.
