JAMMU, Aug 14: One person was killed today in a hit and run case in Bishnah area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a rashly driven unknown vehicle while on its way from Joian to Nandpur, hit a scooty bearing registration number JK02BU-3408 and killed its rider on the spot. He said the driver of the vehicle fled from the spot, leaving the dead on the crime spot.
“The mishap occurred this morning at about 9:15 at Tibba area of Ranjitpur,” he said, adding the deceased scooty driver was identified as Natha Ram son of Guran Ditta, resident of village Ranjitpur (Nandpur), tehsil Bishnah.
He said a case FIR Number 136/2021 under Section 279/304-A of IPC was registered in this connection at police station Bishnah and further investigation started while the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after getting conducted postmortem at SDH Bishnah.
