CRs of KU seek upcoming exams through virtual mode

Srinagar, Aug 17: The Class Representatives (CRs) of various semesters of the University of Kashmir today demanded their upcoming examinations, keeping in view the pandemic, be held through virtual mode.
The Joint CR Association of the University of Kashmir in a letter that it has sent to the varsity’s Dean Academic Affairs stated that the online exams are a must for the safety of the students and the staff.
“We would, on behalf of the Joint CR Association, like to bring in your kind notice the issues regarding the mode of exams. Keeping in view the present pandemic scenario, online exams are a must for the safety of the students and the staff,” the Joint CR Association said.
It added that the efficiency of learning gets compromised through online mode and “in order to compensate for that, exams should be held in an online mode only.”
Previously, as per the Association, a decision was made to take online exams keeping in view the circumstances and the betterment of staff and students. “We look forward to a positive decision which benefits the students and staff,” the CRs said.
It said that the student community was severely impacted due to the pandemic and has not been able to attain whatsoever could have been possible through offline mode.
“So, we appeal your good self on behalf of all the CR’s and the student that the upcoming exam must be taken online as in these difficult times,” the students demanded.
