Tejas Networks clarifies, says there’s no biz exposure in crisis-hit Afghanistan

Bengaluru, Aug 18:
The Bengaluru-registered Tejas Networks Limited on Wednesday refuted linking business exposure of it with the recent adverse situation and developments in Afghanistan.
“Firstly, there are no customer orders from Afghanistan that are pending for execution. Secondly, there are no outstanding receivables from customers in Afghanistan. Thirdly, there are no Tejas employees located in Afghanistan and fourthly, there are no assets of the company which are located in Afghanistan,” the company said in the exchange filing.
The clarification comes in the wake of the company’s shares hitting lower circuits in the past few sessions on reports of having possible business exposure in the crisis-hit Afghanistan.

Some media had reported Tejas Networks implementing a multi-year contract to build Afghanistan’s high-capacity National Optical Transport Network.
Tejas Networks further said it has been regularly intimating the requisite information having a bearing on its operation and performance, including price sensitive information, if any, to all the Stock Exchanges where its security is listed.
“However, we shall continue to keep the Exchanges informed on price sensitive information, if any,” it added.
The company produces optical and data networking products, besides offering products like converged packet optical, packet transport network, and enterprise ethernet switches, among others.
