Jammu and Kashmir rather beat its records of decades this year in respect of celebrating country’s Independence Day thus creating history of sorts. It is to be known to be believed that as many as 27390 educational institutions , Government offices, Panchayats, Municipalities, Youth Clubs and the like participated actively in the celebrations across the Union Territory by hoisting tricolour and holding functions.
Not only such massive participation exhibits a total change for the better especially in context of Kashmir valley but shows increasing enthusiasm , zeal and patriotic fervour among the people across Jammu and Kashmir. Almost all street chowks, nukkads, parks, trading mandis and the like witnessed hoisting of the tricolour by the people and exchanging festival greetings amongst themselves. It is to be noted that such a huge participation in Kashmir has come no less than a surprise to everyone which was beyond expectations. How can one forget that there used to be occasions when most of the Government offices , school and colleges and the like used to remain shut in Kashmir and there used to be practically no functions except the Government sponsored /official functions . In Jammu, in some districts where there used to be less of it has shown this time massive participation of people. Expecting more and more of such positivity and developments to usher in an unlimited era of peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir , is what everyone hopes.
