KISHTWAR, Aug 18: A man was killed and two children were injured when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Chingam area here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing Registration Number JK19-2664 was on its way to Chatroo from Sinthan Top when the driver lost control over the car and it rolled down into 100 feet deep gorge near Chingam area, resulting into injuries to three persons.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started operation to rescue the injured persons with the help of locals.
The injured persons were rescued and shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chatroo, where doctors declared one of them as brought dead, while the condition of two others was stated to be stable when last reports came in.
The body of the deceased identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Mangoo Bumal of Batwari Tehsil Chatroo District Kishtwar has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
The injured were identified as Fiza Banoo, daughter of Akther Hussain and Yemina Banoo, daughter of Altaf Hussian, both residents of Batwari Tehsil Chatroo District Kishtwar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation started.
