JAMMU, Aug 18: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) continued its protest under the leadership of its president Shadi Lal Pandita at Jagti township today for 320th day.
Addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita said that the Government is doing injustice with Kashmiri migrants as relief holders are in lot of trouble because their monthly cash relief is very meagre while the prices of essential commodities have touched sky.
He reiterated the demand that the cash relief be increased from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per month at an earliest. The members said Government jobs for unemployed youth and interest -free bank loans should be given to over aged youth of the community.
They said that Kashmiri Pandits have suffered a lot of loss of land and property for the last 32 years in shape of crops and damage to property which should be compensated. Pandita reiterated the demand of building three townships in the Kashmir Valley near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. He also urged the Government to give political and minority status to Kashmiri Pandits.
He appealed  to the LG of J&K UT to recommend a package of 20,000 jobs for unemployed youth of the community .Out of which 5,000 Class IVth posts be given to unemployed youth who have passed matriculation and later could not continue their education due to poverty.
Others who participated in the protest included Raj Kumar Tickoo,Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, ,Rakesh Ambardar, Rakesh Tickoo. Ram Krishan ,Vinod Bhat, Rakesh Koul, Vijay Bakshi, Raj Kumar Bhat, Satish Pandita, Vijay Suri, Ramesh Suri ,G M Khan, G M Dar etc.
