95-yr-old woman dies, 26 test +ve in Jammu

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Aug 18: A 95-year-old woman died of COVID-19 and 26 tested positive in Jammu region while 74 fresh cases were reported in Kashmir division and 11 in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A 95-year-old woman hailing from village Dabrote Manjakote in Rajouri district died of COVID-19 and co-morbidities in the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri taking Corona toll in the Jammu region to 2160 and Rajouri to 230.
Among 26 new cases, six were recorded in Doda, five each in Jammu, Rajouri and Kishtwar districts, four Udhampur and one in Samba while no cases were registered in Kathua, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts.
Thirty two persons recovered from the virus today.
Jammu region now has 1,22,610 Corona cases. Among them, 466 are active positives while 1,19,984 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2160 casualties.
The UT of Ladakh today reported 11 new COVID positive cases including 10 in Leh district and one in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 81 active positive cases.
Meanwhile Kashmir today reported 74 fresh positive cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 24 from Srinagar, 5 from Baramulla, 6 from Budgam, 5 from Pulwama, 9 from Kupwara, 4 from Anantnag, 4 from Bandipora, 9 from Ganderbal, 7 from Kulgam and 1 from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 201,072 including 198,173 recoveries and 2,240 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,125 including 659 from Kashmir division.
With 132 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 318,157, which is 98.29 percent of the total cases.
