JAMMU, Aug 19: RS Pura Police arrested a snatcher within 24 hours.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by a lady namely Rano Devi, wife of Tarsem Lal, a resident of Kotli Mofi Tehsil Suchetgarh with Police Station RS Pura stating that a miscreant riding on a motorcycle snatched her ear rings near Kotli Mofi area.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 169/2021 under Sections 341 and 382 IPC has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and hunt has been launched to nab the snatcher.
On specific information, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector Jai Pal Sharma under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan arrested the snatcher within 24 hours.
The arrested snatcher was identified as Jagdeep Singh, son of Sarabjeet Singh, a resident of Ludhiana, at present living in a hotel near Jewel. The motorcycle used in committing the offence has also been seized.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft or snatching cases.
