UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Second alternative bridge on Birma Nallah, raised by Army for passenger buses, was thrown open today for vehicular movement.
This 100 feet TSR Bailey Bridge has been raised on under construction existing PMT bridge.
According to Commander 35-BRTF, H Murti, this bridge is of the 40 R Load classification. However, the same is restricted to 24 R for the safety of commuters. “We have also called expert team to repair the old bridge and along with this we have also planned to build a new bridge which will cost around Rs 24 to 25 crores,” he added.
