Srinagar, Aug 22: Coming down heavily on PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks on Taliban, the BJP’s General Secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta today said that Mehbooba’s links with the Taliban and ISI must be investigated as her statements reveal her innate ‘friendship’ with the terror outfits.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir will no longer become hostage to the politics of deceit and hypocrisy while adding that people have outrightly rejected politics of polarization.
Vibodh also said that while rejecting the politics of polarization, the people of J&K have time and again reposed their faith in the vision of PM Narendra Modi who is leading the country in reshaping it and at the same time making it strong.
He made these remarks while addressing party workers and condemned what he termed as an unruly statement made by Mehbooba Mufti. Vibodh also accused Mehbooba of time and again trying to disturb peace and tranquillity in J&K.
He asserted that Mufti has disrespected the youth of J&K “by drawing a comparison between the Taliban-a terrorist organisation and our youth,” while seeking an unconditional apology from her for the statement that she made in South Kashmir’s Kulgam.
Vibodh accused Mehbooba of having a pro-Pakistan and stated that her ‘links’ with the terror groups including that of ISI and Taliban need to be investigated.
“From supporting Taliban to pro-Pakistan stand and anti-national remarks, Mufti has repeatedly tried to disturb the peace of J&K. Her links with Taliban or ISI should be investigated as her statements testify her friendship with these terrible terrorist outfits,” Vibodh said.
While interacting with the party workers, Vibodh appealed to them to follow the footsteps of PM Narendra Modi, as he said that, under his visionary leadership, “a new and strong India is taking shape and let’s vow to become a part of this change.”
He further asked them to stay updated with all the activities, public schemes and policies of the central government to ensure that the benefits of these schemes could be delivered to common people at their doorsteps.
