Bus driver held with illicit liquor

JAMMU, Aug 22: Gangyal police today arrested a bus driver with illicit liquor.
“A police party from police station Gangyal led by SHO (Inspector) Raghubir Singh during naka checking at Purmandal Morh stopped one bus (sleeper) bearing registration number JK02CN-5213 carrying passengers, coming from Bari Brahmana side,” a police official said.
He said during search, 18 bottles of Teacher (1000 ml each) , 36 bottles of Red Label (750 ml each) and 24 cane of beer marked Bera of 500 ml each were recovered from the possession of the bus driver namely Sudesh Sharma son of Sudagar Mal, resident of Banglad, Samba.
“In this regard, a case FIR number 136/21 under Section 48(A)/50/Excise Act has been registered at police station Gangyal against the accused bus driver and further investigation started,” the official added.
