SAMBA, Aug 23: General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party (JKNPP) and Former Minister Yashpal Kundal expressed concern over the ongoing power cuts in Vijaypur area.
Addressing a press conference, Kundal said that the problem of power cuts is increasing day by day.
“We have never seen such a bad condition of electricity before. The BJP Government has failed miserably in supplying electricity to the people. Everyday farmers are trying to wake up the administration from their sleep by taking to the streets, but the Government is continuously ignoring the farmers”, Kundal added.
He said that due to the lack of power supply, the crops of the farmers are drying up. Due to wrong policies of BJP, farming is also proving costly to the farmers, he said, adding that the electricity given to the farmers is being given to the industry.
He demanded from the administration that farmers should not be treated step-motherly.  Power supply should be made smooth by reducing power cuts in the area so that farmers can save their crops, he added.
He appealed to the Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to waive off the loans taken on KCC and electricity rent of the farmers.
