Srinagar, Aug 24: The Non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits today staged a protest against the JKSSB’s move asking them to produce the Kashmiri Pandit certificate which they said has been made mandatory by the Board for their selection.
Scores of such migrant Kashmiri Hindus appeared in the Press Enclave and started raising slogans against the JKSSB for what they termed as ‘unreasonable’ criteria set by the Board.
“We are Kashmiri Non-Migrant Hindus and how is it possible for us to produce the Kashmiri Pandit certificate which has now been made necessary by the JKSSB for the selection process,” Pintu Singh Jamwal one of the protestors said.
The protestors alleged that the JKSSB has debarred them from the selection process for the same reason and is now asking them to do what is opposite to what they were told before the process.
“Before the process, they had told us that we will have to get the bonafide non-migrant Kashmiri Hindu certificate which we have secured from the concerned DCs and the Relief Commissioner, but they are telling us a different story now,” the protestor said.
The protestors appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to issue the necessary directions in this regard so that their issue is resolved once for all.
