Development plan chalked out for Shital Nath Temple complex

JAMMU, Aug 25: Shri Sanatan Dharam Shital Nath Ashram Sabha has chalked out a major development plan for Shital Nath Temple complex.
In a handout issued, the first phase of development is already in place with a permanent priest and arrangements for the daily Aarti at the temple is being done through the Sabha. The damages to the Temple i.e sanctum Santorum are being repaired in association with local civic administration. The second phase of the temple development will include a dedicated commemoration/martyrs memorial of Kashmir Pandit martyrs.
Shital Nath Temple Committee led by its long standing President Jawahar Lal Koul along with executive committee members have been at the forefront of restoring the glory of this iconic part of Kashmir’s history. Festivals and annual hawan on Navreh and Shivratri have already been performed after a hiatus of 31 years and has been now drawing devotes and tourists alike from all over the country.
A broader development plan includes a yatri niwas for the devotees and the conference hall, the handout reads.
The committee members who represent Shital Nath Ashram Sabha are working along with the civic bodies and other Government agencies for the finalisation of the development plan.
Earlier, a boundary wall was constructed and repairs were carried out to the temple, which was burnt down along with hawanshalla by anti national elements in the year 1992.
The Sabha has also taken concrete steps to evict school building from encroachers.
The Sabha has not given permission to any person, group or organization to hold any programme and or to install any bust in Shital Nath complex on 13 and 14 September 2021 or any other date, the handout reads further.
