SRINAGAR, July 4: MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta has been nominated as Chairman of Departmental Related Standing Committee VI (DRSC) of Legislative Council with legislators Ajat Shatru Singh, Jugal Kishore, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Abdul Majeed Bhat and Rani Gargi Bloria as its members.
The Committee has the mandate to look into the functioning of the departments which include Home, Social Welfare, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture and Cooperatives.
The Committee met here today under the chairmanship of Naresh Kumar Gupta.
Stressing on ensuring regular presence of all the members, the Chairman said that it will enable the Committee to take unanimous decisions besides settling the issues in a time bound manner. He said that need is to adopt a strategy for making the committee result oriented.
The members assured for making the committee effective besides extending full cooperation in achieving the objectives for which it has been constituted.
