Livestock theft case solved, 2 arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 25: Batote Police solved a livestock theft case with the arrest of two persons.
As per police sources, on 23 August this year a complaint was lodged by a man namely Abdul Wahid, son of Bashir Ahmed of Sana Tehsil Batote, District Ramban with Police Station Batote stating that some unknown persons had stolen away his livestock from his cattle shed during the intervening night of 22nd and 23rd August.
“Some villagers noticed sound of goat nearby and I immediately checked his cattle and found some goats missing from shed. I along with my brother chased the sounding goats, but the thieves attacked them and they received head injuries”, the complainant said, adding that the the thieves managed to fled away from spot with livestock.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 91/2021 under Sections 457, 380 and 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Batote led by PSI Harish Kumar under the supervision of SHO Batote Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao arrested the cattle thieves, who were identified as Yashpal, son of Bansi Lal of Sana and Rafi Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed, both residents of Sana, Tehsil Batote, District Ramban.
On their disclosure, stolen livestock including five goat, one ram and one buck were recovered from village Sana.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
