Clean shave for 13 passengers as Tempo trapped in flooded Nallah

RAJOURI, Aug 25: At least 13 passengers and a driver had a ‘clean shave’ when a Tempo Traveller was trapped in a flooded Nallah in remote Khawas area of district Rajouri this evening.
Official sources said that it was heavy rain in Khawas and Kalakote area today and a Tempo Traveller was on way to Khawas from Kalakote town via Moghla and Tredu. When the vehicle reached at Patti Nallah ahead of Tredu, the water level in the Nallah was rising.

The driver tried to sped away through the Nallah before the water level increases. But as the vehicle reached in the middle, the flooded water stated pushing down the vehicle. The passengers started crying for help and some of them mounted on the roof top of the vehicle. Then with the help of rope the passengers were rescued from the trapped vehicle. The driver was also rescued by locals. The vehicle was washed away at some distance and then got trapped in boulders.
Several vehicles remained stranded on both sides of the Nallah on the road for long. They left for their destinations only after the water level receded in Patti Nallah. The people of Khawas and Tredu area are demanding a bridge on this Nallah since long but their demand has yet to be addressed by the Government.
