Nehru reappointed VC of SVSU

JAMMU, Aug 25: Government of Haryana has approved the reapportionment of Raj Nehru as Vice Chan-cellor of Shri Vishwak-arma Skill University (SVSU) for third consecutive term in a row for another three years.
The order to this effect was issued by Governor Haryana, Bandaru Dattatrya. Raj Nahru was appointed VC of India’s first Skill Development University Haryana in the year 2015.
A son of the soil, Raj Nehru is an alumni of MAM College Srinagar and Gandhi College, Jammu.
SVSU is offering special privileges to the students of Jammu & Kashmir by providing some seats in all the skill courses. There will be one seat reserved for migrants from J&K under Supernumerary seats – over and above the sanctioned seats.
Nehru said that “SVSU is providing this opportunity especially to the students of J&K by allotting them some seats in the skill courses. This privilege to the students from J&K will give an opportunity to learn the skill and it will also help them to be self- reliant and self-independent, as University is following the agenda of Kaushal Bharat Kushal Bharat, where skill will be provided to the maximum number of students”.
India’s First Skill University established in the State of Haryana, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University has started its admission process for the new academic Session of 2021-22 for various Skill courses. Students from all over India can apply for the admission till 30th of August. The Vice Chancellor of the University said that SVSU is offering various types of skill courses for students all over India.
Nehru informed that all the courses in the University are running on Earn while Learn model, the programmes are Industry oriented where students will acquire skill according to the Industry. Students will get the opportunity to get theoretical knowledge as well as practical knowledge while working in the prominent industries. Also Students taking education in the University are given a stipend ranging from seven thousand rupees to 10,000 during OJT by the company depending on their course and company.
