PYC stages protest against BJP for ‘selling national assets’

* Uday detained, not allowed to enter K’wa

JAMMU, Aug 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) today staged a strong protest against the BJP Government on the issue of privatizing 13 sectors under National Monetization Pipeline (NMP).

The protest was led by Aijaz Choudhary and Ricky Dalotra, general secretaries of J&K Pradesh Youth Congress, in which a large number of party activists who had assembled near Press Club Jammu participated. Carrying placards in their hands, the protesting JKPYC activists raised high-pitched slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre and its alleged anti-people policies.
Talking to media-persons on the occasion, Aijaz Choudhary said that being in opposition today Congress has the right to raise the voice against unjustified decisions of the Government. He accused the Modi led BJP Government of privatizing Railways, Banks, and other sectors after having resorting to a spree of selling all the public assets. He said that this step taken by the Government is an unprecedented step that exposes the tall claims of the BJP of being the true nationalists.
Ricky Dalotra lamented that what could be more unfortunate than the fact that BJP’s tall claimed NMP is estimated to create an aggregate monetization potential of Rs 6 lakh crore through core assets of the Central Government over a four-year period from FY 2022 to FY 2025 which means that the said national assets that are significant part of the national heritage. He said that Pradesh Youth Congress activists will fight tooth and nail till their last breath to thwart the BJP’s attempts to sell the nation’s crucial assets.
It is pertinent to mention here that today’s protest of JKPYC was to be lead by Udhay Bhanu Chib, president J&K PYC but he had to rush to Kishtwar due to cane- charge on PYC activists during a peaceful protest against National Monetization Pipeline in Kishtwar yesterday. Udhay was detained at Thathri and was not allowed to move towards Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, Udhay while lambasting the BJP for National Monetization Pipeline criticized the authorities for not allowing him to move towards Kishtwar to know about the well being of party cadre injured in cane charge.
Among those who joined the protest include Sahil Singh, Ranjeet Chopra, Divyansh Jamwal, Varinder Partap, Happy Rahul Tandon, Anuradha Sawhney, Sunil Kumar and Ranjeet Kumar.
